Refrigerator Help

Can someone reccomend a refrigerator.

I can't bring myself to spend 10 grand on a sub-z.

I'm looking at the GE profile thing -

they are mad cheap here - this is only 3grand - i read GE profile is being discontinued? They have a 4 year service contract avilable for an extra 300 dollars.

Anybody have other recommendations or opinions

The fact that you mentioned the subzero first means that is what you really want. If you buy something else, you're going to end up regretting it and eventually despise it.

Nut up and get the subzero.

yes id efinitely want the subzero however it is ten grand, these are 3 grand

Not sure what you are really looking for here. With a sub-zero and other very high end refrigerators you are definitely paying for something that looks impressive and they do. In general, many of these products suffer from quality issues as they struggle with essentially building these in glorified job shops.

The picture I saw looks like a gussied up standard model for GE. Not quite as impressive to look at it, but still quite nice. The upside is that many of these have more extensive service and reliability support as the core systems are common through several platforms. I can't comment on this particular model.

I would think if either needed service, you would have better luck with the GE as I would guess the installed base would be higher.

Sounds like Consumer Reports might be worthwhile in this situation also.
