Refrigerator Doors

I have a side by side that is about 12 years old. Everytime I close one door, the other pops open. I am assuming the rubber gasket around the doors needs to be replaced. Is it worth it or should I just buy a new one. Thanks.

go to Sears online parts (even if it's not a Kenmore) and you can price them. They actually have a magnet in the gasket which keeps it closed. Make sure your current gasket doesn't have any goo on it. That could keep it from working properly.

Maybe this is too obvious, but the doors could be mis-aligned in which case all you should have to do is loosen the bolts at the top and/or the bottom and straighten it out. I had this same problem for months and just dealt with it until I figured it out and it took me about 3 minutes to fix it. The problem started happening right after I moved.
