refrigerator cooler fan wont turn off

only way I can get it off is to manually turn it off, usually it cools for a while then goes off by itself, it seems to not be cooling quite as well maybe 7 or 8 degrees warmer than usual, any suggestions ?

Most common issue is dirt. Clean the dust off of anything you can get at. Coils, fan, fins, compressor. Everything. If you have a vacuum with a hose with a soft brush, that is ideal. If not, get a soft brush and clean and then vacuum.

Sometimes you can't get at much, but you can almost always get underneath, if not behind. Depends on the brand.

It's probably not sutting off because it's not cooling to the settings.

Nick's right. First thing is to whip out the shop vac and vacumn up underneath the unit. Removing the face plate below the door. Usually just two screws and a pop in clip. then pull out the fridge and vacumn off the rear of it. I usually put the brush attachment on the shop vac to loosen the crap for the vac.

this MAY solve all of your problems. you will be shocked at how much crap there is up underneath the unit.
