refinance boom?

spouse of a friend hasn't had a job in two years. I told her to contact Rodney Anderson. He is real big in the Metroplex. I told her I thought there was still a refi boom going on. Is there?

A friend of mine is a Realtor and residential mortgage broker in Houston. His real estate commissions have been down of late. He said he's refinancing houses left and right though.

Also, I share office space with a title insurance company in Houston. Their business was very slow in the last half of 2008. It has picked WAY up lately, partly because of the increasing number of refinances and partly because a number of smaller title agencies in town have closed their doors.

Based on my observations, the answer is yes.

I second that. I have a friend in the mortgage financing industry and he said he is doing a ton of refinances. Home purchases, not so much.
