Redskins may go after Roy Williams...

Thanks for getting my hopes up.

What a turn of events - I started out thinking one of the players on my favorite team who continually blows it is going to sign somewhere else, only to find out that one of my favorite players might go to one of my least favorite teams.

I guess they are going for the trifecta "No Thanks." Ain't gonna happen. It's pretty funny that nearly year after year the 'Skins try to trade away their 1st Round pick(s) instead of using them to build from within. No wonder they are where they are right now.

Actually, it's a funnier joke to me that, despite mismanagement, we've still won multiple playoff games since the cowboys have won one.

I like winning playoff games. Rivalry is nice too. But if I can't have all, some is nice. I think given the sheer meltdown by wishy washy fans at best on the boards and elsewhere shows many Cowboy fans wish they won playoff games recently. Maybe not all but many.

I am not saying that it would be nice to boast the current streak of wins v. losses in the rivalry like the Cowboys do. But it is very aggy to pretend that playoff games would not be a nice thing to toot your horn about.

It is flattering to see such vitriol from some who seem to hate the Redskins more than they like their own team. There is something familiar and sad about that. To each their own.

I would have been happiest with Chad Johnson, I don't know why. Just something about him I find amusing but may not have on my team, the one I root for. Bouldin second. Roy, good Roy was never something I pondered.

I still won't because I don't want to get my hopes high. Roy will have a FANTASTIC time in D.C. especially with the money he has. It is a great place with culture, class and **** loads of things to do. There are downsides too but he will have enough money to not run into that too much. Fantastic fanbase too. He will be taken care of it this happens and I know the jersey I will purchase ASAP...if.....if...if

Winning playoff games is nice - winning any game is. But make no mistake about it, there is only one playoff game that really counts.

If you want to think that the rivalry is stronger between the Cowboys v. Giants or Eagles is more intense than it is v. the Redskins, I don't know what to tell you because we would agree on very little. I would also ask if you have seen all teams play in their home stadiums to compare/contrast.

Also, have you lived amongst large numbers of all the fanbases to see the rivalries up front and personal? You may have and had starkly different experiences than I have. It is possible but doubtful.

But think what you like, root for who you like and hopefully be able to do it with class and pride. Here's to a new season not too far away with pre-season and the draft as soon as this week.

I have seen and experienced Cowboy Culture all of my life. Born in Texas. I have traveled around the country and seen many fanbases and teams. I would never be a Cowboys fan again. I became a Redskin fan by choice, I doubt I would ever look back nor would I want to. To each their own. But thanks for chiming in on a Redskin thread. (that was sarcasm. you see, I don't really mean thanks)

that's not the point, loop. if you ask redskins fans, giants fans, and eagles fans who their biggest rival is, they all give the same answer: Dallas. not sure why that point was made, but there it is. obviously if you ask cowboys fans who their rival is, we'll say washington.

I look at the Eagles, 'Skins, and Giants as all fairly equal rivals with the Cowboys.

Personally, I'd probably say that the Eagles are our top rival right now because they have been the most successful against the Boys recently.

I don't think either the Giants or Eagles would say the Cowboys over the Redskins. The main reason is location. They all live so close to one another and infiltrate one anothers cities they live with it all year long.

Cowboys fans think highly of themselves and they should. All fanbases should. Lately the other teams fans may be more happy over the quality of win v. the Cowboys and that their team is maybe coming around. But in the sense of rivalry, no, I don't agree. Bragging rights are much more fun when the other side is around all the time or more often.

There are exceptions to this when you look to the NBA for the Celtics v. Lakers back in the day. But we are talking about a very storied division in the same conference.

I truly hope for a return of the NFC Beast to replace the NFC Least that has been the recent past. I loved when the road to a Superbowl went through that conference more times than not. When snot and blood was the main course every week. When a team played any of those teams and paid dearly for it.

I want those days back. I miss those days. Those days when that old saying was never more true: On any day any team can beat another. (something like that)

You really did not know who would win but you knew that at work the next day the price would be hefty if your team lost.

Good luck this season, NFC East.

As someone who grew up in NY, Giants fans definitely consider the Eagles their biggest rival. The proximity of the two cities and obnoxiousness of people from Philadelphia leads to people from NY hating the Eagles moreso. Maybe Giants fans in Texas feel differently I guess, bu tI wouldn't consider them representative of the fanbase.

All you need to know about this rivalry is that, in the 2 biggest games ever played between them, the Redskins came out on top. '72 and '82 NFC title games, anyone?

I want it with consistency and duration, not one year after years of being run of the mill or pedestrian. Top to bottom, every year. I am demanding.

And yet another way is to say the cowboys just weren't good enough to advance far enough to get beat by Washington any of the other 3 times the Redskins won the NFC title game.

This whole argument is akin to USC fans saying the Rose Bowl loss to Texas didn't bother them because they dominated the 2-game series back in the '60s, and besides, Texas wasn't good enough to play in the previous title games USC played in either.

Oh, okay. So it's better to brag about victories over a bad team during the regular season than it is to gloat over wins against the "2nd best team" when all the chips are on the line. I understand completely now.
