Waiting for Colt like

My dad is officiating the game today! It's his first ever NFL game. He usually does high school for the Austin chapter. Last year he got to do his first college game, which was the Texas-OU game. Here's a picture he sent me from pre-game. We're hoping for a strong game for Colt, but ultimately a Cowboys win. Is that too much to ask?

Okay, I know Colt has made a couple of mistakes (one huge one), but, with time to go, Washington has 20 points against a very good defense, and Washington has only been averaging 19.7 points per game this year. Just sayin' EDIT--well, ****.

Very cool for your Dad.
And it looks like the outcome you wanted.Colt is really amazing.
Colt looked better than anyone could expect.
I hope I am not jinxing the outcome . Damn skin TD

If your Dad can share any impressions or stories most of us will never have a clue what it is like. He must be a terrific ref. I know how tough it is to get to that level.
Congrats to him.

Very poor officiating. (Just being real.) And one-sided. SabreHorn, did Bowersley lend the NFL some of our officials? Wow.

So I pulled Cooper and put in Jeffrey about noon today because fantasypro said overwhelmingly to make that change. I hate fantasy football. I haven't had anyone get 40 all year and he's sitting on my bench.

Congrats to him.

He runs the chains, so he often hears what's going on on the sidelines in detail. He's definitely told some interesting stories in the past. I won't spill his secrets, but I can say that some that come into DKR (he works the visiting team sideline at home games) are very cordial and show good sportsmanship, and others just leave a bad impression with him. It seems as though there are definitely a lot of teams that come in with a chip on their shoulder regarding Texas.

You must not be a Cowboys fan, because I recall a few fireworks on TG aginst the 'skins.

Colt forced it on that last INT. They had plenty of time for short gains, plus 3 TO’s to get the ball back for a long FG.

True, although on Dallas' previous drive they had gotten a free first down from the refs for less grabbing than went on during that play.

Colt has thrown 2 TDS, 3 Ints. Skins running game hasn’t been of much help. Dallas 31 Wash 20. 1:22 left
For Colt's sake, the receivers were not a lot of help in some of those passes...more than a few that SHOULD have been caught. On one of the INT's, I think Colt just missed the LB that jumped the route...and I have no idea about that wounded duck for number three on the night that sealed the deal.

On the 2nd INT, Colt underthrew the ball. Should have been out and over the shoulder. Colt was recorded on the sideline saying so.

Pretty sure Colt will get better as the season evolves. He got no reps this week at all because of the short week, and frankly Washington’s D didn’t have a very good day. Poor tackling. Bad angles. (Sound familiar?) I also don’t think that the offensive playcalling was stellar either.

Give him 10 days to prepare for the next game and I’m guessing that the results will be better.

Wut?

On the previous Dallas drive, they had like a 3rd and 9 where they got a free first down off of defensive holding, when there was not very much holding going on.

The receiver Colt threw to on his final interception was being grabbed even more so. Not necessarily a clear-cut case of "should have called it", but that one was more worthy of being flagged than was the call on Dallas' prior possession.

Luv ya Stat but come on...there's holding on every single play and 99% don't get called. Picking out one play to excuse Satan going down is...well...is further proof that you're just a Cowboys hater. I'm not trying to be rude or in your face but you are exposed and I truly believe it's appropriate to point out the hypocracy and disingenuous of the anti-Cowboy and frankly, the anti-America's Team attitude on this board. Thank you and Good Night!

Not going to argue the point that holding could be called on most every play, but it does not usually get that blatant when it comes to the receivers mid-route. When the coverage gets a fistful of jersey, it often gets called. Some don't (like this one) just as some facemask penalties don't get called or someone gets hit with a bogus targeting (offensive players are getting good at dropping at the precise moment they need to so as to get the flag).

Even a Cowboys fan SHOULD have been able to agree that there WAS a hold that did not get called on that play in question...

I'm a Cowboys fan.
