I have never cared much for martial arts movies but David Mamet wrote and directed this one and I saw it last night and enjoyed it. The fights were interesting but the story about a dedicated instructor with his gym in a seedy part of LA who gets tangled up with a pro fighting promotion he detests is well crafted and the dialogue is classic Mamet.

Not as good as Glengarry Glen Ross but good.
