This would have been cool if he could have pulled it off.
Should have kept his mouth shut until it would have been too costly to dig up.
Now the Yankees are considering criminal charges. I hope he doesn't have any charges it is not like what he did would have effected the building. If they hadn't been told about it they never would have noticed.

meh, i hate both the sox and the yanks, but this is funny and newsworthy.

and yes, espn has a unhealthy, borderline abusive love affair with the yank-sox rivalry.

This is up there with the bird crapping on some Yankees fan at Fenway.

I'm a Red Sox fan. And we're not long-suffering anymore.

ESPN talks about Red Sox/Yankees because the rest of the MLB ******* suck. Boston/NY gets ratings.

The Astros/Cubs/Braves rivalry **** would make more television if any all of those teams would consistently make the playoffs.

F the Yankees.

Sullhorn, you are far from the douche fan and I applaud your long history as a fan but to sit here and say that "the rest of MLB sucks" outside BO/NY is a ********* view on the sport. Baseball is huge in Texas it's just not reflected in the success of the pro teams. You might follow your local pro teams more but on a whole there is a huge amount of baseball knowledge in this state. Once again, to assume that there isn't because you are a BoSox fan is shortsighted.

Are you going to say that Pats fans are more knowledgable about football than Cowboy fans? Maybe or maybe not but I don't buy it either way.

Finally, I agree there's a ton of people in the NE area that like baseball and have the rivalry but if you haven't noticed there are a ton of people that live outstide NE in the US that don't give a **** about either team and the rivalry.

As a long time Red Sox fan, I get tired of the fact that every televised game that I see is against NY. It is a great rivalry, but any time ESPN gets a hold of a rivalry it is way over the top. See: North Carolina vs Duke, USC vs Notre Dame, Cowboys vs Eagles/Giants; Tiger vs Phil. ESPN does it with every sport.

And if any of you have a chance to go to a Red Sox/ Yankees game at Fenway it is unforgetable. For a baseball game there is more intensity than I have ever seen at any other baseball game. It does remind me off a TX-OU game.

It was a great game too, but it is back to Sox-Yanks on Wed.
I do love the fact I get to see the Red Sox on TV, but even as a Sox fan the hype is a little much.

I'm a huge baseball fan..in fact, I'm a Minnesota Twins fan and proud of it

The fact that a red sox fan buried a jersey to "jinx" or put a "curse" on the yankees acted very childish and lame..I have friends who are fans of the red sox and yankees..and i have to say, the red sox fans, are by far the worst!!

The so-called NYY/Boston rivalry is lame, there is no rivalry. how can it be a rivalry when none of the players give a **** and have absolutely no ill will towards the other team. In fact if the money was right, they would gladly switch over to the other. The rivalry only exists between the two loser fan bases. Pro sports has no more rivalries, it's all about the $$$$$$ Maybe a long time ago, there were real rivalries back when they didn't make much money and there was no free agency.

But nowaday, the only thing they care about is getting paid, if it's in New York, great, if Boston throws more money, hey they'll pack their bags and go the Red Sox. They don't give a rats *** about the so-called intense rivalry.

It's all about college, now there are real rivalries. Don't ever have to worry about the stars of my Trojans signing a free agent deal with UCLA. USC is never moving to San Antonio or Memphis for a new stadium. The players actually care about winning, even the ones who are locks to be high draft picks and make millions in the pros, the passion is still there to win. And when they leave their alma mater, they vehemently cheer on and follow their school and attend games when they get the chance. That's what it's all about. You Texas fans know as well as anyone else.

Just had to say that cause I'm sick of hearing about Boston/Yankees too and even more sick of hearing about this "bitter" rivalry and pro sports in general is nothing but a competition for the $$$$$. LOL

Uncle Rico,
How do you define "d-bag BoSox/Yankee fans"???

I've been a devout RedSox fan since I was about 6 yrs old and I'm 44 now, so yes I rooted them on through a lot of bad times. Am I supposed to apologize because they've won the World Series 2 times recently? Although I'm originally from New England, I live in the Austin area now so I get my RedSox fix in Arlington every year. And I suppose you're pissed off because more than half the stadium will be RedSox fans, right? Boston is also playing at Houston this year and I'll be at those games too, and I'll bet that RedSox Nation will be very well represented at the Juice Box as well. Is there something wrong with that? Would you rather watch the Rangers in a half-empty stadium?

Don't hate RedSox fans just because they root for a team that has played well the last few years. Of course, like any group of fans, there will be a few that act obnoxious and all that, but just because a LOT of us show up in Arlington and other parks all happy and ready cheer on our team, there's nothing wrong with that is there?

I hate to say it but you almost sound like an aTm fan with penis envy.

Yeah, most teams (certainly most good teams) have fans like you describe, unfortunately.
BTW... I'm impressed that you knew that Mike Boddicker played for the Sox

But damn... you left out Yaz, Jerry Remy, Carlton Fisk, and your namesake even... Rico Petrocelli

Sorry about the penis envy line... that was a little too over-the-top
