Does anyone know of a place in Austin that takes toner (for ink jets, fax machines & laser printers) cartridges to be recycled?

There are lot's of places.

Let me make a recommendation. Don't recycle toner cartridges. Sure it costs less than new cartridges, but it lasts half as long and it tends to leak and kill your printer.

I'm certified on HP printers and in my past life have done a lot of printer work. I've even costed it out to prove to the bean counters that it doesn't save you money. If you figure in repair costs it's actually more expensive.

That said, if you can sell your old catridges to a recyling place and then use that to defray costs on new cartidges, you can actually save money on other poor suckers who can't see the hidden costs.

HP has a return and recycle policy.
Kudos to them for doing this. You even get a free shipping label.

MrMyke is correct.

You can try some of the local recyclers, but they probably won't pay you. They may come pick them up though. I can't think of any names right off hand, but I be you could do a google search or check the yellow pages and find more than you ever wanted.
