Recruiting - WAFUM

So a high school in Ohio has banned Tuberville because he did not follow up on a QB who had been recruited by Tuberville's predecessor.

The I read that a guy who committed to Cincinnati in July of 2012 is upset because the new regime has not contacted him.

In both instances, the players feel left out with the national signing day only days away.

So is this the fault of the coaches? Is it the fault of the players? Is it the process of going after recruits as soon as they get out of diapers?

Just curious.

New coaches at a school mean new priorities in recruiting. One style of QB may not meet the needs of the new staff or maybe they have other players rated higher. It seems like some spoiled Harry Highschool just got his nose out of joint.

I'd have to Lexis-Nexis it, but I seem to recall something going down when Mack got here related to this scenario. There was a commit from a Metroplex school who felt slighted that Mack hadn't called him up to talk to him during those first couple weeks of December. I want to say he ended up somewhere "awesome" like SMU instead.

A guy that has committted should be contacted. He's made a committment to the school and someone on the staff should contact him. As to just some dude being recruited that hasn't committed, get a life kid. School owes you nothing as you never made the committment.

There is responsibility on both sides. If I am the player's parent I would be calling the new coach on day 2 after the announcement. I would be protecting my son's interests and making sure his free ride is being honored because I would have already made plans for the 100 grand that I wouldn't be shelling out.
