Looking back, I can now see that we were in on some really good players; but, in recruiting, it doesn't matter if you finish 2nd or 52nd for a recruit's signature.
I recall lamenting over losing Kelsey Bone. As it turned out, the real loss that class was Taylor Hill of Minnesota. Seemed like she was all but committed to Texas until her Buckeye brother told her that their parents would go to his games and not hers if she chose Texas.
Watching Hill score so effortlessly at Ohio State makes me think she was the biggest miss for Coach G.
Now, from an evaluation perspective, I've voiced my opinion that so many schools (including Texas ) passed on Houston's Carolyn Davis, who is now at Kansas. What we really haven't had the last 5 years is a consistent, offensive-minded power forward. Davis would have fit that role, IMO.
I'm sure there several other names, but those are the two that come to mind at the moment.
