Recommendations on vehicle

I am in the market for a certified used or new model SUV/Crossover SUV.

Any recommendations?

Friend of mine has a honda element that is pretty cool. Very roomy, even in the backseat, perfect for tall people. It's not luxurious, a very utilitarian vehicle. Not to say uncomfortable. Only weird thing is there are only 2 seats in the backseat.

I recently bought a new Toyota Venza and have been very happy with it in all respects. It is a crossover SUV/sedan and is comparable to the Honda CRV and Mazda 7, both of which I liked.

The main reasons I bought the Venza over the Honda and Mazda were: cabin was roomier in all directions; seats (upholstery) were softer/more comfortable; the dashboard instrument panel was brighter, easier to read and more eye-pleasing. Except for these factors, I considered these models equal.

You couldn't go wrong with any of them. Hope this helps.

No man should ever consider driving a crossovcer SUV. The correct answer to this question is either get a Tahoe (or similar) or whichever sedan suits you. You're free to pile on me now.

Crossover is another word for station wagon. Station wagon is a marketing epithet that would get anyone blackballed from the industry for even suggesting it's use in advertising.

Not that there's anything wrong with one.....

Not to inflict pain on those already suffering, but who in their right mind would buy a Land Rover? The same person who does all their grocery shopping at Whole Foods?

Honda CRV. Or Honda Pilot. Or Acura (is it MDX?).

The next gen 4-runner is out.

I have been looking at the following (new for some, used for others)
no specific order - feel free to jump all over some of these, I've already heard it from friends
murano
FX35 - but read the gas mileage in city driving gets into the single digits so have been rethinking.
mdx
x5
'10 Equinox or '10 Terrain
RX350
08 Highlander
10 SRX

I don't need a full-size, but prefer sitting higher.
Recently sold my cherokee, and refuse to go Jeep/Chrysler again

The CVT in the Murano takes some getting used to.

We have a 2004 Highlander and will likely get another when it needs to be replaced.

I recently chose a Subaru Outback as my "family friendly" car. I am now a big fan of their vehicles and will likely purchase from them again in the future.
