My husband and I want to go out to dinner Friday to celebrate my new job. We want to go somewhere fun and good, not too expensive or stuffy. Somewhere along the lines of Dolce Vita Pizzeria.

I love divino, nice little neighborhood place.

Go drink a bottle of wine at the Corkscrew, I think its on Wash., too.

at catalan, order the Miner Syrah. it's $26 and very good

i was there last friday

frisee salad x2
asparagus appatizer
tuna sashimi with chili oil
lamb stuffed piquillo peppers

all fantastic. i usually get the smaller plates, but the entrees are good too.

the pork belly app is what they are known for, but it was too fatty for me.

catalan and dolce vita are my 2 favourite places in town right now because you can get out without dropping big dollars and eat and drink very well.

Mia Luna in the Village is one of our favorite places for my wife and I when we want to have some good tapas (Spanish food - not Tex Mex) and drink a couple of pitchers of Sangria. They have live music on the weekends and it's a pretty good atmosphere.

We had a great time at Catalan on Friday. We ordered 8 small plates instead of 2 entrees. Here is how we ranked them.

Awesome:

Tuna
Pork Belly
Cockles
Stuffed Peppers
Crab and Potato

Okay:
Spicy Shrimp
Calamari

Gross:
Foi Gras Bon Bons

We tried to get the Miner Family Wine recommended but they were out.
