Rebuilt Engines

I have a third vehicle that the engine recently blew. Over 150K miles, Jeep Grand Cherokee 2000 Laredo V-8.

I am thinking about dropping a rebuilt engine in and use it as my boat tow.

Any thoughts or things to look out for?

Suggestions to do it or not? Any references in Dallas, PM me.

Sorry, don't know. Just wanted to say if anyone in the Houston area is considering rebuilding their engine they should avoid Thunderbolt.

I have used City Motor Supply in San Antonio and they have a location in Dallas. They were recommended to me by several people when I was looking for a long block for a chevy truck a few years ago and I found them good to do business with. I used my own guy for the install, because they didn't offer that at the SA location. It was a very well rebuilt first cut premium engine with a 25k warranty and still run like a top with about 60k on it.

I contacted them about a year ago for the same Jeep engine that you have. They told me that they did not stock that engine but would rebuild it at the Dallas location for around $2500 If I remember correctly. I ended up getting it rebuilt locally, but spent more than that and ended up wishing I had sent it to Dallas.
