In reference to a-typical PDF'd rebate forms found online for consumer goods, what options do consumers have if a rebate company doesn't adhere to the listed terms?
I recently purchased something that had a $200 manufacturer's rebate, and I met all of the terms of the purchase (I only had to purchase the item from an authorized online retailer). After checking the manufacturer's website, I saw AMAZON was listed as an authorized e-tailer, and assumed everything was good. I did some research and found other people called into the rebate center, and were told something to the effect of "if you buy it for that cheap, you're not getting the rebate." Some sites apparently "took the rebate off the charged price", but Amazon has done no such thing.
If there is no mention of a minimum price WHATSOEVER in the terms/conditions verbiage, how can they legally reject the claim? What options (as a consumer) would I have if they do this to me?
