I coached my 17U team in the Real Deal in the Rock in Little Rock this past weekend. We had some travel issues (for some reason, American can't complete a flight between Dallas and Little Rock), so we had 2 of our top 6 guys not make it there and we had to forfeit our Friday night game because we didn't get there until Saturday morning, but I did get to watch Grassroots Canada with Tristan Thompson and Myck Kabongo play Saturday night.
Thompson is as big as advertised, and he was effective down low. He also had decent handles for his size, but his shot left a lot to be desired outside 5 feet.
Kabongo is extremely quick, and shot the ball well during the game I saw, but he was out of control at times, as to be expected for someone his age.
I talked a little with Thompson after the game (they beat a good JG Rising Stars team from Illinois), and he seemed like a good kid who was excited about coming to UT.
