REAL Big12 Dominance

I'll heed the advice of another contributor and start a new thread (can I designate this post a "troll-free" zone?).

It's easy to pick certain sports and highlight other programs success within a specific timeframe; clearly no university, or team, is dominant in every sport every year. But if you really want to discuss the Big12 and its' 15 year history, here a few more meaningful numbers:

Total conference championships for the Horns across all sports during those 15 years = 108. By way of comparison the Ags are at 45, Oklahoma 39 and Baylor 36. The Huskers come closest but are still a distant second with 69. The Horns have also won a total of 14 National Championships during those 15 years, across 5 different sports, and have had more ranked teams in more sports than any other Big12 institution by a wide margin.

If we want to have a discussion about the Big12 why not highlight the overwhelming, overall
dominance of the University of Texas instead of picking a few programs where other teams have more titles, or have experienced a period of success. Or - on second thought - perhaps I should congratulate the Husker women on their five NCAA Bowling Championships - very impressive indeed.

Unfortunately saying "We're Texas" at a womens BBall game doesn't have the same ring to it as a fan saying it at a volleyball event or swimming event or a football event (minus last years debacle).

Say that to an opposing fan and they will probably laugh at you!
