(Re)Learning a 2nd language

So I want to become semi fluent in German. Mainly because of my heritage and I really enjoy the culture. I am most likely even going to Munich for my honeymoon.

Anyway...I have a pretty good grip on the language already. And by pretty good grip I mean I know most of the grammar rules, the pronunciation, and about 20% of the vocabulary. I took German for 3 years in highschool, and 3 semesters at The University. But I really have not touched the language in about 2 years, and I would love to take my German skills to the next level, and would really love to be able to communicate fairly well by December of this year (that is when we are going to Munich. i have been there and know you can get by with just English, but I have always wanted to go to a foreign country and be able to get by with their language).

I read a book about a year ago titled something like "Learn Any Language" or something like that, and it really gave me hope that I can do it. I guess the main advice I am asking from my fellow Hornfans is if their is anything out there that is worth a damn that I can download onto my Ipod and listen to while working out, etc and could help me in this little journey of mine. The book I read was written about 10 years ago, so there was nothing in there about something like this. Anyway, any suggestion will help.

And also, any suggestion about learning a language in general is welcomed.

Danke!

The best way to take it to the next level is really to spend time where that is the local language. However, this isn't an option for the majority, so the next best thing I think is to read and watch movies.

Try practicing as much as you can with other speakers. I know that there are German speakers clubs in most areas. If you cant find one try looking on meetup.com.

okay...between:

Rosetta Stone, Barron's Mastering German, and Unforgettable Language, which learning aid is best?
