Rasco recruitment

I have read rumors that due to Davis coming on board, that Rasco is now considering Texas. If I'm not mistaken, this was someone that Davis was recruiting while he was at Alabama. So is this considered acceptable among the coaching ranks? I have read numerous threads by people who said they would be upset if Muschamp came after any of our prospects. The fact is, none of them are truly committed until they sign on the dotted line.

The difference to me is that Rasco has not committed to anyone yet, so that would make him fair game.

The other difference is that we've talked to him previously as well--it's not like we went and plucked him away from Bama with no prior connection.

So as expected, we have somewhat of a double standard when this phenomenon is working in our favor...eh...I'm okay with that.

Hmmm. I don't think we have ever lost a commit in the last few weeks. Or have we? Maybe to Saban?

We haven't lost anyone, but I've heard a lot of talk and a few threats saying Muschamp better not pursue any Texas commits or targets.

I was not talking about this year. Was Saban coaching at LSU when we lost a certain fat headed qb to them?

I'm pretty sure Saban would be okay with it. Bama hired Chris Rumph, DL coach from Clemson who was very close to Jadeveon Clowney.

Errr, you don't seem to understand the difference between no commitment and a verbal commitment. If you set the baseline that there's no difference than yes, we're hypocrites. However, since the rest of us assume there's a difference (as does Mack), then we're not.

You guys talk about these kids as if they are someone's property, and not people who are capable of independent thought.

today during the Army All Star game , Rasco asked for and received from JORDAN (not Jaxson) Shipley an autographed game towel.

I'm sure it means nothing but following recruiting means absorbing every little 'nothing'

Yes, aggy, it is legal. But maybe you meant to ask if it violated an NCAA rule? Why don't you look into it and get back to us on this important ethical lapse.

That is not a benefit that would only have been available to Rasco as a potential student-athlete. Anyone at that game could have asked for an autograph.

hey *******, i'm not an aggy. i graduated from texas like most of you. thanks to where_are_my_8s for clearing that up. i appreciate the logical explanation. shipley was one of my favorites, and i'm looking forward to jaxon kicking *** as well.

Saban just hired Clemson's DL coach so that he can have an in with the top DL prospect in the country.

Why do we care what ******* Saban thinks about anything? I hope he EABOD and DIAF.

thanks for the advice longtex. i'll probably keep my handle as it is since it does refer to my high school TAMS; not that i'm living in the past or anything, but that's probably when i started following the horns and got "hooked" on hornfans and even the older sites (hookem.com???). anyway, I've had it for so long with the same signature that it's probably not worth me changing since this is probably only the 2nd time i've been accused of being ag. in addition, some/most people (GemState) already know what the handle refers to, so anyway...
Regarding Rasco

It would be great if he came on board along with Cedric Reed, Quincy Russell, and Desmond Jackson. That would be a full Defensive Line right there with some serious potential. Considering some of the shuffling we were doing last season with S. Acho and Okafor moving to DT, our lack of depth was really exposed so Dline is a critical recruiting need.

who else, if anyone, are we looking at for Dline?
