just thought i'd share a small rant i have and get some opinions.

seems like every other WBB board has AT LEAST one person with some "inside" information about their team to share with fans. at least a couple of times a week i surf the other boards to see what's going on and they seem to always have updates as to what the team is doing...not only their own team, but others as well.

so, are the Horns practicing this week?

forgive me, i'm not asking to know what the team's doing 24/7, but i just wish we knew some things about our own team before others do. it could at least make for some good discussion here during "down time" for the Horns!!! i think our board is quite boring at times like this... compared to others...only because we don't receive any new info.

okay, rant over...and open for discussion, criticism, or approval.

Almost, if not all of those "insiders" are either a reporter for the school, running/working for recruiting service or otherwise paid to stay in close contact with the team. Plus they are fans of the team. Maybe somebody posting here fits that criteria. I sure don't but would love to have that "insider" posting here. I agree that it gets rather bland here during the offseason. Given the info posted on by Maria on the Summitt (she's paid to report on the Lady Vols from what I can gather), I would think that the coaches called up the players and got them practicing. They get a lot of money to take advantage of every legal chance to improve.

I think the people on the Tennessee board fund (at least partially) the person who travels all over to go to all the games and report back to the board. Or something similar - because she (Maria, I think) occasionally mentions on the board the need for expense money. Perhaps the University funds her partially, but I'm not sure.
