3. GEORGIA (31-8) – Previous rank: 3
After losing a mid-week game to rival Georgia Tech, the Bulldogs flexed their muscles with a home series win over Arkansas to extend their SEC lead.
4. TEXAS (29-8) – Previous rank: 6
The Longhorns had their most impressive week of the season. After sweeping mid-week games from A&M-Corpus Christi, they swept three games from rival Oklahoma.
5. UC IRVINE (26-10) – Previous rank: 8
The Anteaters split a pair of mid-week games with LMU and San Diego before hitting the road and dominating UC Riverside on the way to a three-game sweep.
6. NORTH CAROLINA (31-10) – Previous rank: 10
After splitting a pair of mid-week games with High Point and Winthrop, the Tar Heels continued their winning ways by sweeping Miami in impressive fashion.
7. GEORGIA TECH (26-8) – Previous rank: 11
The Yellow Jackets had a fantastic week. They began the week with mid-week wins over Georgia and Georgia State before sweeping Wake Forest on the road.
8. LSU (28-12) – Previous rank: 2
The Tigers had a week to forget. After splitting a pair of mid-week games with New Orleans and Nicholls State, the Tigers dropped two of three to Tennessee.
9. CAL STATE FULLERTON (24-11) – Previous rank: 5
The Titans recorded a dominating win over USC to begin the week, but resorted to their unimpressive ways in a home series against Pacific over the weekend.
10. ARKANSAS (26-11) – Previous rank: 7
The Razorbacks split a pair of mid-week games against Louisiana-Monroe before hitting the road and dropping a hard-fought series to hard-hitting Georgia.
11. CAL POLY (27-9) – Previous rank: 14
Besides a tough series at UC Irvine a few weeks ago, the Mustangs have compiled an outstanding resume. They swept UC Davis over the weekend.
12. BAYLOR (25-12) – Previous rank: 12
The Bears began the week with a mid-week split against Texas-Arlington before going 1-1 against Oklahoma State in a rain-shortened three-game series.
13. FLORIDA STATE (25-12) – Previous rank: 15
The Seminoles split a pair of mid-week games with Florida and North Florida before hitting the road and doing a clean sweep of N.C. State.
14. OKLAHOMA (29-11) – Previous rank: 9
The Sooners began the week with a mid-week win over TCU, but were unable to sustain confidence in a weekend series against heated rival Texas.
15. VIRGINIA (30-8) – Previous rank: 17
The Cavaliers had a mid-week bout with Coastal Carolina rained out, but took care of business at Boston College over the weekend.
16. MISSISSIPPI (28-11) – Previous rank: 19
The Rebels had a fabulous week on the diamond. After beating rival Mississippi State in a mid-week bout, they hit the road and won two at Florida.
17. MIAMI (FL) (26-13) – Previous rank: 13
The Hurricanes began the week with a nice mid-week win over Florida Atlantic, but were unable to get anything going at North Carolina over the weekend.
18. OREGON STATE (23-9) – Previous rank: 16
The Beavers began the week with a solid mid-week two-game sweep over BYU, but stumbled at home against USC over the weekend.
19. TEXAS A&M (25-14) – Previous rank: NR
The Aggies had their most impressive week of the season by beating Rice in a mid-week bout and outscoring Nebraska 28-4 in a three-game series.
20. SAN DIEGO STATE (26-15) – Previous rank: 18
The Aztecs had a tough week on the diamond. After losing a mid-week game against UCLA, the Aztecs hit the road and dropped two of three to New Mexico.
21. TCU (23-11) – Previous rank: 20
The Horned Frogs split a pair of mid-week games with Texas Tech and Oklahoma before having their entire series at Air Force cancelled because of heavy snow.
22. SOUTH CAROLINA (26-14) – Previous rank: NR
The Gamecocks split a pair of mid-week games that included a thrashing of College of Charleston. They also showed consistency with a series win over Auburn.
23. FLORIDA (26-14) – Previous rank: 23
The Gators began the week by sweeping a pair of mid-week games from Florida State and Stetson before dropping two of three at home to Ole Miss.

The Crimson Tide needs to start showing consistency, but sweeping Vanderbilt on the road over the weekend was pretty impressive.
