Rangers vs. Rays

1st, CJ earned a shutout today imo. That guy just barely made it to 1st base, if CJ doesn't get his glove on the ball the 2nd baseman might have caught the grounder and thrown the guy out. Then that reliever was throwing straight fastballs.

2nd, Taylor!! what a game, two sac bunts, a hit and man is he fast, especially for a catcher. It's actually very close imo, do you choose him or Molina. I mean Taylor could move a runner over 100% of the time, and very occasionally get a hit. But what really impressed me was his baserunning at 103 degrees. He played every play like it was his last play, no doubt.

3rd, Rays have a better record than Rangers. Rangers can catch Rays in the loss column with a three game sweep(I guess they're playing three).

I know, chances of a sweep are minimal, but you never know. A lot of the team's starters were resting today, so I don't expect a letdown tomorrow.

If Lee can win the first game, it's very possible.

All we need are a couple of things, 1. the injury bug to go away, and 2. Vlad to get hot, I get the impression his swings are better, he's just not quite there yet.

Taylor for the past 2 days has proven that a catcher doesn't have to be a big hitter to produce for his team. He's given great targets, can throw out runners, can bunt, run, and do anything it takes to win. It's impossible to have enuff players like that on a ballclub

He's a winner. I think most of us knew that from his time @ TEXAS.

TB is playing well and is at the top of the wild card race. I am not optimistic about a sweep of this series on the road. I am hopeful that Lee can W this first game and the R's can somehow win one of the two remaining games.

Re TT - I too was pleased with his bat in that game. At this point I prefer to take my chances with him in the game / batting vs. Molina. TT does alot with his feet that Molina cannot do and he is more versatile as H2R pointed out. I just grimmace when Molina comes to bat with men on base... however, we need both to stay helathy & contribute with their bat in this stretch run.

If he can bunt, he could play for me. It's a lost art. I am always amazed when I watch a game and see people who can't bunt.
Bunting is how I taught all of my kids to hit. SEE THE BALL!!!!!!!!!

A sweep of the upcoming seven on the road would be terrific, but realism says not to expect it. Winning two of three in Tampa and three of four in Baltimore would be an outstanding road trip.

I'll tell you something, I am really a Ranger fan because of Taylor. Well, to be honest, because of my daughter who is a Ranger fan because of Taylor!

Nolan owning the team has made it even better.

I really hope he works himself into a .280 or so, because yesterday's game showed he had every other tool. Not only did he lay down two SACs, but they were absolutely perfect in location with the first going up 3rd, and the second up 1st. Then, legging out that single and it wasn't even close! I hollered when it happened and Shannon asked me "What?" and I had to explain to her that catchers, even MLB catchers, are not supposed to be that quick...

Going 5-2 on this road trip would be allsome.

Honestly though, TB is a great home team, so not sure 2/3 is realistic. Lee vs. Price is a toss-up, but Hunter and Holland are going in the other 2 games. Not too confident in Tommy, at the moment. His last 2 outings, sick stomach notwithstanding, have been awful. Holland is coming off injury, so no idea what to expect w/him.

We need to pay the O's back for their unbelievable 4-game sweep before the AS break. That **** calls for major payback.

boy did the Rays hit the ball where the subs were playing or what? I've never seen anything like that.

Imo, if all the Ranger starters are in there the Rangers win the game.

Cruz gets to the short fly or holds the guy to a single, I honestly think Michael gets that chopper that Elvis stopped, and of course, the FC gets thrown to first instead of to 2nd base; inning over.

They might have scored one run? It's 4-3 going to the top of the 9th.

Let me just say one thing: Lee gave up six (6) earned runs. Arias's play at 2nd was a f/u. but even if he'd played it correctly the runner's safe at 2nd and the next next batter knocks him in.

Lee is not finishing like he needs to.

And Lewin won't admit it. All he would give you is his pitch count. When the game was on the line C.Lee couldn't get the outs.

Since the All Star game Rangers are not exactly playing great baseball. I hope Tampa does not sweep them. Rangers need to play better defense and improve their bullpen IMO.

they had such a bizarre lineup there in the 8th. Elvis was the only starter in there. and that bloop single involved two guys who each got called up yesterday - Arias and Boggs. Cruz would have called off the 2B and probably caught that.

Hook'em!!!

our lineup is a pathetic joke right now. serious take a look at it! i don't know how anyone would expect to win with a low A lineup out there. Thank God the angels have been losing along with us.

Losing again, today. Damn, this lineup is 10 shades of **** brown right now.

I just pray we can get healthy soon. We won't beat anyone in the playoffs w/this offensive offense.

The need for serious revenge against the Birds is upon us. I call on all zealots to "give their all" on this series!

Gaaaaawdddd what a truly dreadful series with TB that was. Just makes me sick to my stomach to think about it but we and the R's just gotta move on to Baltimore where it is time for some serious payback to the birds for that TPE smoooooth one, 4 game sweep, they gave us in Arlington last month.

I am with ya Texanne!! Go Rangers!
