Anybody else watching this?? I'm an Astro fan and really don't follow the Rangers, but I'm watching this game because I have Felix Hernandez. Richie Sexson might just have become the biggest POS puzzy in the game. Go Rangers - stir this **** up.
 
TAG gave it to him out of both barrells for 10 minutes, then spent the next 2 innings (kind of) apologizing for letting his emotions get the best of him. I had no problem with anything he said - Sexson sucks and was obviously looking for a reason to ignite a pathetic offense. Seeing as how the Mariners now have 1 run in their last 31 innings (and counting) . . . it didn't work.
 
Not on in Austin-TW. Will definitely watch Baseball Tonight at 12:30am to catch the highlights. Glad to see the Rangers putting together a nice run, on the road, no less. Couldn't believe my eyes last night with 2-0 win and Padilla beating Bedard (he had a 15 k game against us last year, IIRC).
 
If only the Rangers could play 162 games against Seattle. Unfortunately, we still have to play the Anaheims, Oaklands, Bostons and New Yorks of the world.
 
PLEASE tell me by some shot in the dark, somebody tivo'd grieve's rant. absolutely love it when he loses it and just goes off. it is always warranted and doesn't happen very often, but tis glorious. kind of like that quiet soul dad that just takes everything in stride then when something out of order happens, just cuts loose.
 
6 game suspension for Sexson plus a fine - did not see an amount. I think that is a pretty short suspension for charging the mound for nothing and then being a little ***** about it and throwing your helmet at the pitcher. Especially since Sexson is 6'8" 250. He is appealing the suspension. I will be very unhappy if this gets reduced. I am sure Bud Selig and co. care about my opinion.

Felix Hernandez, Gerald Laird, and Sidney Ponson were also fined. Did not see what Ponson did, but I did not think that Laird should have been fined. A catcher protecting pitcher from an obviously crazy 6'8'' guy who uses his helmet as a weapon is grounds for a fine?

I don't remember verbatim what TAG's rant was, but he basically called Sexson gutless for using the helmet and then went on to say if Gabbard was going to throw at someone he would have thrown at one of their good players. "...not Sexson who couldn't even hit water if he fell out of a boat." He got in quite a few shots like that before he cooled down.

You know, dumb *** move, but he was pretty contrite and candid afterwards. He hasn't been playing well, and obviously he was a ticking bomb.


Funny comment by the announcer even. Gotta love TAG as well.


I think Laird got into a fight with an Angel once.
 
On the Mariner's broadcast, one of the first things they said was "frankly, that pitch wasn't that close" to Sexson. He was just looking for a fight due to his frustration and game circumstances.
 
Not to make excuses for him, but his kid was also in the hospital. He should have gotten more time for the helmet.
 
TAG is awesome. Sexon is a total shitface for that. I played against him when i was 17 and he was an arrogan POS then. It wasn't even close so he's a shitface.
