Rangers sign Josh Hamilton

The Link. This locks Josh in for the next two seasons, when he can become a Free Agent. If he continues to perform, we would hope that the Rangers would give him the big bucks for a long-term deal to keep him here for his career.

As Evan Grant pointed out in yesterday's DMN, this deal didn't add any additional time (two years) to the Rangers' control of Hamilton, but it did ensure that they won't have to go to an arbitration hearing against him during this off-season and next.
