Rangers - Nice while it lasted

Okay, Ranger zealots,
I think we have reached the end of the line. Needing a sweep to have any whisper of a chance, the Rangers lose two of three to the Angels. It's all over but the shouting.

Still, by any reasonable measure, this has been a successful season for the Texas Rangers. Expectations were low coming out of Spring training, and the team has exceeded any reasonable dreams we had. We've seen the coming of age of young pitchers who were thought to be yet another year away. We've seen the coming of a terrific young shortstop for the future. There is an embarrassment of riches in the outfield, and the infield appears to be set for a good while. It definitely hurt to lose Josh for a significant portion of the season, as well as losing the reliable Michael Young down the stretch. But
... the Rangers will finish in second place in the AL West with a winning record, and the management did not make any stupid trades of future talent for quick fixes.

The future looks bright. Let's hope that the ownership situation gets sorted out very quickly in the off-season, so they can at least be in the position to take a serious look at Free Agents. Only five months until Spring Training!

Yeah, I think the ownership thing has to be worked out. The Rangers cannot have MLB jumping in to approve signings and trades. That can not be good for business.

Holland has to get better, surely. He has awesome stuff. Can't believe he has been getting shelled so badly in his last 6 starts. I hope Maddux and Nolan can get him straight. If he can get turned around, you have to like Feldman, Hunter, Holland and Millwood next year. Heck, Nippert has hope. And surely Hamilton will come back with a better season.

GUARDADNO!! I like the guy as a person but I am sure he will not be back last year. Why am I watching this game tonight? I have no idea.

Good points HHD. You brewed some fabulous mojo receipes for victories and sweeps this season - especially against the better teams in the league - LAA, NYY and Bosoxs. Just just need to fine tune it next season for the little guys in the league - the Un-royals, Mini-sota, Baltimore and the A's.

It was a fun season and one that the Good Guys were in the hunt until the last few weeks of the season. I am still kind of in shocked & uphauled how they hit a wall, ran out of gas or were simply just exhausted these last few series against teams they should and might normally beat most days.... but there is hope for next season with all this talent coming back

I'm starting to think a "fans strike" is needed. Hicks has to sell this team. He isnt going to get the $600 mil he wants and it needs to be made clearly evident that the fans want a new ownership group that has a little financial stablitity.
