Rangers need a closer

I admit I didn't see today's game, but I just looked at the line store, and it appears that we had a lead heading into the bottom of the 9th. And again, we lose.

What is it going to take to get a real closer for this team??

I am so frustrated. I know it's early, but the Rangers would be leading the division if they didn't choke games away in the final inning.

Rangers gagged this game in the bottom of the 8th when 2 errors on routine grounders, followed by a 3-run jack. The closers had nothing to do with it-- it was just bad fundamental defense by 2 guys who are normally pretty good (Andrus and Young).

Feliz is 2-for-2 in save situations and has looked dominant in both.

Max, thanks for the explanation -- I stand corrected.

But we have had two times this season where the pitching was the problem in losing in the 9th.

Of course-- which is why Feliz is the closer now and not Francisco. It may end up going back to Francisco if he can work out his issues, but for now it's up to Feliz. And I like what I see. Who wouldn't like 102 mph heat?
