Chris Davis out; Justin Smoak in - The Link Chris just wasn't getting the job done with his bat. Taylor Teagarden might be next (but I'm not sure who would be the everyday catcher until Salty is ready).

I didn't hear the news until I got back home last night (was in Palmdale on business Monday and Tuesday), but I'm not surprised that Taylor was sent down. Let's hope some intense work in the minors prepares him to come back up and stay. Should be interesting to see both Salty and Taylor in Oklahoma City!

^Good point, Eric. I'm assuming the intent is that Salty is there on a rehab assignment and will be called up quickly. Taylor may be there a while - until he can get his hitting to come around.

The Mariners took advantage of him today w/ a bunt single...In Smoak's first game he failed to pick a throw, caused Feliz ~ 20 xtra pitches in the outing b/c of it & didn't break 93mph the following outing.

Look, I hope Smoak does well but this team needs Davis at 1B to win the west. *This* particular team will win w/ pitching and defense, or not at all. Smoak doesn't fit as well as Chris. If they just wanted a bat at 1B then they made a mistake by letting Hank go....but imo Davis is the right guy at first
