WOW!

8-6 R's get the W tonight in 14 innings. Finally... after losing what was it 13 or 14 straight to the tiggers on the road. Marathon game that wore out both bullpens. Cruz timely 2 run HR finally gets it done.

Bullpen needs a long and strong night from Hunter Tuesday night. Go Rangers!!!

Crockett,

I think it's more that we won despite Feldman. Five earned runs in five innings -- and three home runs -- is not exactly winning pitcher material.

Hunter usually eats innings, so I feel pretty good about tonight.

Hello win column 8 to zip. Where has this Chris Davis been this season? I think I saw last night his avg. was .167 - at the time I thought, hell I could probably hit .167 if given the chance but I digress.

Oh well 55-39 and a five game lead looks mighty nice!!!

I think it was Grieve that said (okay, it could have been Josh), this was a PERFECT game by the Rangers...pitching, hitting, defense, power...everything went right.

The squeeze bunt was Bee-u-ti-ful. Murphy was tremendous. Nice to see Davis get some hits. And the defensive play of Andrus and Kinsler was something to store in your memory bank. Really terrific. Big Game - what can you say?

Tomorrow night is Colby. R's should be favored.

Hook'em!!!

I love this freakin' team. LOVE IT. They have some baserunning and other minor issues to address, but they play their *** off every day and finally, for the first time in 38 years, have a true #1 ace at the peak of his career who can win 2 games in a playoff series. [Haters, I realize Lee hasn't got a win with Texas yet, but I am not going to complain about 18 innings pitched and only one walk (intentional) in 2 starts--ridiculous.] This is the best team the Rangers have ever put out there. Still may not be enough to beat the Evil Empire and piss on Steinbrenner's grave, but all you can do is hope...

not a huge Rangers fan, kinda been watching since we moved to the metroplex in 99. can't remember a team like this, and I think this is the key word, this is a total team effort. Obviously #1 goal is to win the division, but I really think a couple of things really help this team go further.

1. Lee being the big inning eater will rest the bullpen. to me it's almost incidental if the Rangers win his game, he will save the bullpen almost every time, it's gonna pay off in non-Lee games.

2. Washington- we must give a ton of credit to him. this team plays relaxed and hard at the same time every night.

The team is 5 behind the yankees in the loss column. It's a stiff task, but I think the Rangers could possibly catch NY.

A couple of things could derail this thing, but I don't see these two happening.

1. serious injury to a key player
2. starting pitching deteriorates.

Key is #2, Rangers have so many other pitchers they can plug in, Feldman situation, example #1, it's not a huge deal if he has to go down to AAA.

...and Cruz is getting his hittin' shoes back on (great D too the other night in Beantown getting all 3 outs including a sliding grab in a late inning). It sure would be nice if Feldman could get back to last year's performance (or even 85% of it). Borbon is one speedy center fielder and had a great squeeze bunt tonight. Not sure what the heck happened right before the AS break but who cares now.

Oh yeah, and Molina will probably steal a dozen bases by the end of the season.
