Weaver was too tough. The inning you noted TA where Murphy/Vlad didn't come through was big.
I also thought there was one questionable pinchhit. Seems to me Josh should have pinchhit for Taylor instead of Borbon, esp. since they were going to pinchrun for him. Wouldn't have made a difference in the game, but would have provided a better chance of getting something going.
I'd be all over the batters about what is going on when Cliff pitches. He's frustrated...I would be too. We're lucky to have him so Rangers get with the program.
Unfortunately Cliff has visions of a Jeter, Cano, Texiera, A-Rod, Berkman, etc, etc lineup behind him. I guess no one can blame him for going to the Jonkees after the poor backing he's getting.
We really need his arm here for the next few yrs, not sure how we can make it happen, tho
True, but Tex is the best 1b in the game (opinion, of course). Berman is a nice fallback for 1b & dh
Rex,
Ya, it should be that way (Rangers lineup= run support). Put yourself in Cliff's shoes tho. Which of those lineups can be counted on next year?
I'm pulling for him to be here as much as anyone. Getting Lee to stay needs to be JD and Nolan's #1 priority after nov.1. If he sounds disappointed in interviews that's not good. The bats need to wake up.
I understand his disappointment...but was surprised to hear him voice it publicly two weeks after he arrives. what's he think? his teammates are going, "uh, Cliff's pitching. time to shutdown my offense." As good as he is, he isn't pitching shutout baseball. Would like to hear a big public reconciliation tomorrow.
