Ranger Bats....And A Few Other Items

Even a team as loaded as the Ranger's go cold once in a while. But, now that the pitching is coming thru, would love to see them be able to generate the offense they are capable of.

On another note, the sloppy base-running of late has me concerned. Too many 3rd-outs at 3rb base lately and overall poor decision making on the paths. Would like to see them stay disciplined and not get complacent. Hope Wash can correct that and some of the bobbles in the field as well. All mental when you get to this point.

Agree with your points. They're chalking up the baserunning to being "agressive." But, there's a line where agressive crosses into "stupid." And that has certainly happened and needs to be addressed. I think Wash and Pettis are doing that.

The hitting - I hope it's just slumps or outstanding opposing pitching - but something nobody has voiced so far and that is: Pennant Race jitters. The pressure is only going to get more intense as the race narrows down. They are definitely going to have to have the mental strength you referenced to win out.

Thank god for the pitching - esp. the starters. Bullpen doesn't seem to be quite the strength it was. Oliver hasn't been as dominant; O'Day? not sure. Feliz still makes me nervous, but he gets the job done so hopefully he'll continue on.

Horn69,

I still wish I were that football ...

And good points made by both of you. "Pennant race jitters" is probably a great part of it, if history proves anything.
