Ranaudo

I'm assuming he's the Greatest College Baseball Pitcher Of All Time.

We seem to run into those a lot...

Same question was just asked of LSU's coach:

Response: 6' 7" good fastball, curve, change. Throws on a downward plane. Friday starter all year. Other than Coleman, no one else they want out there.

looking for more than that if anyone has it.

Ranaudo's been solid all postseason, which means he's due for a-rockin'. That said, he'll probably come out throwing bullets with his best stuff of the season.
In other words, we're dooooooooooomed.
We've no chance and should consider ourselves lucky to even get a couple of hits.

We've demoralized every LSU pitcher we've faced. And don't even get me started on Mr. ASU. Why would this one be any different?

Bring it.

Yup, we've done well against their starters, and we've been completely shut down by their relievers. Tonight, we need to score on all of them.

And I believe we will.

Heard a brief mention on Ranaudo by Chip Brown this morning....the baseball guy for orangeblood's says he doesn't have a slider which has been probably the biggest trouble pitch for our righties. So that is good news...as always, i'm sure it'll depend on what the ump's zone will look like tonight.

I am hoping for 100 plus temp for tonights game. Pitching in this game on 4 days rest with a relief staff that has been used in both games has got to favor the Horns! Cole Green get it done tonight!!

Can anybody post the innins pitched by LSU's releivers for both games/and pitch count for them if you have it?

Appreciated. I'm at work. and this is one of the few sites I can easily get too.

Coworker is LSU fan. San Ranaudo has been good post season, but during season he had up and down periods. Never knew how he was going to perform on any given night.

Ranaduo has not been solid all postseason. Virginia knocked him around pretty good in their CWS opener.

That said, he has very good stuff. I liken him to Brandon Workman. Big guy, lots of heat on the fastball, lots of Ks, but not the most consistent guy on the staff. He also doesn't last very long, so LSU will rely heavily on their bullpen, IMO. From having watching Ranaudo in the CWS, he looks like the type who gets stronger as he goes when he's pitching well but is easily rattled if he gives up a run or two. Look for Louis Coleman to be the first guy out of the pen, followed by Matty Ott.

If our guys can lay off swinging at bad pitches, we may get a few bases on balls. Ranaudo has given up almost 50 in 119 innings pitched. That's more than double than any of their other pitchers.

Patience will be key. I saw way too damn many one-pitch outs last night, particularly from Kevin Keyes. It's a balancing act though. Ranaudo walks a lot of guys, but he strikes out a ton, too. We don't have the luxury of taking the first pitch on every AB as a matter of philosophy. Ranaudo is too good a pitcher for that. But we sure as hell don't have to swing at everything within a foot of the plate either.
