Rain delay for final game today

I see there is a rain delay for tonight's game between Tech and Aggies. I hope they can get it in tonight.

Mrs and I were just talking about that possibility. Actually, I was thinking in terms of them playing tomorrow just before WE played. OH, and using LOTS of arms just to get the win.

Unfortunately, the rain delay won't affect our opponent, Mizzou, since they finished their game just before the deluge hit at the Redhawks' stadium. If Tech had won against the Aggies, the late game might have helped Texas.

Too bad, especially if Mizzou's ace, Kyle Gibson, is able to go after a few days rest. If that's so, Texas will have to get by whatever innings he can pitch to get to the Tigers' bullpen.

Gibson pitched a complete game and shut Texas out in Austin on March 14. He allowed only six hits.

Ruffin pitched a great game against Gibson (2 runs on 5 hits in 8.1 innings), but it wasn't enough.

As of May 19, Gibson had a 3.69 ERA with 15 walks and 116 strikeouts.

On Wednesday, he pitched 6 innings against a good hitting A&M team, shut them out, and allowed only 3 hits.

But tune in for the game at 1:00 p.m. CST on FSN regardless. These teams don't like one another. There was bad blood during all three games in Austin. Lots of verbal back and forth occurred during the Sunday game and teams did not shake hands afterwards -- with Skip and Augie acting to diffuse the situation.
