Given how many lawyer (professional and amateur) there are on this board there is a new podcast by Radiolab called More Perfect. This show is designed to take you behind the scenes of landmark Supreme Court cases. The first episode titled The Imperfect Plaintiffs has a distinctly Texas tie. It has a great interview with Edward Blum, the man behind Fischer vs. U of Texas which was the recent case that decided affirmative action was acceptable for college entrance standard consideration. Also covered in the episode was a mid-90's case from Houston challenging the State of Texas' sodomy law.

This episode has a little something for all sides of the political spectrum.

It gives a non-lawyer a new appreciation for how important named defendants are to start then not so much as the case wears on. For the single hour I've listed to so far, it did a good job at showing the good and bad about both cases. Without hitting the LGBT agenda head on, it touched on why they use the courts to push things along rather than state legislatures.
