The world’s biggest non-nostalgic rock band has just announced the markets it will play on it’s upcoming North American tour and the only Texas cities are Houston and Dallas. The tour will take place in two segments, before and after the summer, when the band plays all over Europe.
I'm no huge fan of the Woodlands Pavillion, but where else in Houston would you rather see them play? The only other valid venues would have to be the Toyota Center or Minute Maid. I've been to shows at both and I would much rather see a show in the Woodlands.
Of course it will be a quick sell out. Followed by a long agonization about about whether it's worthwhile to pay the brokers price. And ultimately, you will be able to be able to get the ticket at half of face about 3 days before the show. I am already going to promise my girlfriend that we will be going based ont his premise.
woodlands is okay if you can get seats. being on the lawn sucks, because the sound is so bad out there. that said, i may hold off on buying tickets day of that are going to sell out in 3 minutes to a bunch of ticket scalpers anyway, and pay the ridiculous markup to get decent tickets.
anyway, even if i end up on the lawn, i will still make a midweek drive from austin to houston. hope we get a weekend date though, that would be outstanding. i guess having two dates in texas helps the odds a little.
Radiohead is great in concert- one of the only big bands that care how their concerts sound- not overbearing distorted loud- I saw them in Houston for Kid A tour- great
