Racial bias cost BO in 08?

Hook'em
so says a study done by a Harvard Phd and posted by WSJ
from link
As it turns out, America has some issues with race, according to a new paper from Seth Stephens-Davidowitz, a Harvard University Ph.D. candidate in economics. His research found that “racial animus” cost Mr. Obama three to five percentage points of the popular vote in 2008.

If the whole country held the same views as the most racially tolerant communities, the researcher found, Mr. Obama would have earned between 56.7% and 58.7% of the popular vote, compared with the 53.7% he won in 2008."

he forgot to mention that 95-96% of blacks voted for BO compared to 88% that voter for Kerry in 04. I guess that fact didn't help his agenda.

That may be the lamest basis for a report I have ever seen. How could it be more subjective? He did google searches for "racially charged language" by regions and then compared election percentages of BO and Kerry in those regions?

He just assumes the country was exactly the same 4 years later. He just assumes that Kerry and BO are identical. He just assumes that Bush and McCain are identical.

Completely worthless.

While you obamites are all giddy over what you think is something I did NOT read please point out to me where he addresses why 7 or 8% more blacks voted for Bo than a white guy and how thee isn't anything racial ( was it racial animus that kept those 7-8% from voting for Kerry?) in that.
Saying it doesn't mean anything only makes the writer look ignorant.

perhaps one of you obamites can do a google search on that.

This is just dumb. I guess Obama taking us to economic disaster is racially motivated too. There are zero facts backing up all the voters that had to decide between "Hope and Change" vs George Bush. But at this point please give me George Bush. We see what hope and change has done.

I thought you hated anything that comes from Ivy graduates. Their excellent education is usually a sign to you that you don't want to hear what they're saying, and anytime you hear someone went there you mock them for it. So, surprised to see you actually read this, even though a blog helped you find it, given this atrocious source.

many would think methodology he sued is is a tad suspect
but to be clear I am NOT doubting there are racists in the USA and I do NOT doubt people voted against Bo simply because he was black.

But why was the first point in the article that there was race animus only from whites ( or non blacks) ? Why did he give his supposition based on a unprovable premise so much weight ?
He assumed much from google searches. But then he is just a doctoral candidate and maybe he felt he needed something with a splash.
Yet he only used 2 sentences to briefly mention that larger numbers of blacks than ever voted for Bo.
That is a fact , right? No suppostion there.

BTW MCBRETT I have never denigrated anyone from a Ivy league school. Why do you always make things up?

I posted in OP:"he forgot to mention that 95-96% of blacks voted for BO compared to 88% that voter for Kerry in 04.

YOu asked Do you stand by this which you wrote in the op?"

I absolutely do, He uses imagined percentage points that he says BO lost due to racial anumus, basing those numbers on pulling crap put of his doofus google searches and stating it as fact.

RV
show me in his paper where he posted the actual percentage points and differences from Kerry to BO?
you know apples to apples.
so Yes JohnnyM i did read the article.
did You ? and if You did did you see numbers for blacks voting for BO?

This whole study is dumb and based on very weak and presumptuous BS. A far more instructive study on racial bias would be one that examined the 2008 Democratic primary elections.

the good news is that he won't have to worry about that this time. him proving to be a dumbass and a pos will be the reason, and perfectly justified.
