R.J. Washington

Washington had a bunch of negative crap about Texas coaches and their recruiting methods in the Ok rag today. He doesn't like the pressure to committ early and they are kind of stuck up and snooty to ask you to do that. A take it by a certain time or leave it. How is that arrogant? Texas wants kids that want to come to Texas. If you don't want to come here fine, go somewhere else. You don't have to drag the negative BS into it. The lying litttle **** knew where he was going all the time anyway. He was the first to committ to ou and probably even did it before the time Texas had given him to make up his mind. I hope he gets his butt stuck thru the ear hole in his helmet while he is up there! He will learn what it is to be a real pompous *** after he is around Stoops and that fan base for awhile!

Washington, however, said he didn't like that the Longhorns expected an immediate commitment from him.

"They offer you and you have a couple of weeks to commit or they take your scholarship away,” he said. "It's only the biggest decision in your life, but hey, you can make it in a couple of weeks.”
Washington didn't feel that same pressure from the Sooner coaches, which is one of the principal reasons he chose OU.

"OU was pretty straightforward, no sweet talking,” he said. "They said, ‘We're going to push you and you're going to get better or you're going to quit.' ”

Ironically, Washington ended up committing to OU before any other Sooner recruit.

"Bob Stoops has never been one to say, ‘Hey, I need your commitment right now — commit this week or it's over with,' ” Crabtree said. "OU has the reputation of saying, we like you, here's the offer, we'd love to have you. If you don't come our way, we'll beat you with somebody else.”

Texas pressure

I hope Mack does not change our recruiting strategy. Mack has revolutionized recruiting in terms of getting the early pledge. If a kid wants to come to Texas he will, if not he will look around. Now, i think when we have needs a certain position it is crucial sit on those scholarships, but overall i think we are better off getting the early pledge rather than sitting on scholarships for a long period of time.

73- It wasn't ironic that he was the 1st to commit. He knew where he was going all along. He just wanted to dice the Texas coaches in front of sooner fans. I guess that is why they call it the RRS. The inbred feeling in this rivalry is heated up a long time before they ever get on one of the campuses for some of them!.

Mack just doesn't want to get held hostage by a recruit like what happened with Bomar. If you're only taking one guy at a position. You can't wait forever and then lose out on other guys.

Surprise! Surprise! An okie lock for over a year spreads the manure about the Texas coaches. He's preaching to the okie choir...anybody else who uses his mind for something besides growing hair could care less what Washington's take on the Texas recruiting methods is. Hope Washington's happy in Norman, and enjoys getting mud-holed every year in a bowl.

Glad to see OU's still looking at "character" in their recruits. So on his big day he has to talk bad about Mack and Texas - what a typical sooner.

I agree w/ Washington. It's weak tit ******** that Mack and Co won't put themselves out there to be "hurt." They remind me of a girl who won't date so she can't get hurt after they got burned (Periloser). It's arrogant as all get out.

I do think it's pretty stupid for a kid who was 100% going to OU from day one to be running his mouth about this particular topic.

73, for someone who follows recruiting so closely I'm surprised at your comments. You guys were calling a lock on RJ long before he ever visited our campus...

Ask aggy about how OU treats recruits that decommit. As for Washington good luck in Oklahoma, Bomar ran his mouth the same way and karma is a *****.

...and for the record, Mack doesn't have any one method of recruiting. Some get a deadline, some don't...and what's that got to do with anything, anyway. I'm happy for Washington that he's happy up there. If he feels the need to run somebody else down, he's better off up there.

The R.J. Washington article is so typical OU it is not even funny. Instead of focusing on the positive of what is National Signing Day they have to run a negative article about Texas.

The inferiority complex continues.

I'd think okies would prefer to spend more time on blow-u's recruitng boards, patting themselves on the back for a good class. It's interesting how many are showing up here...sort of like a prostate operation is interesting...but not something you welcome.

OUE- which SCOREBOARD called? The one showing you lagging in the all-time series? Or, the one where Darrel Royal was 12-2 against you at one time? This is a series of streaks and it all depends on what years you want to pull up.

It has to be the streak that makes him a fan of one of the three most cheating, corrupt programs of all time. The team that cannot win without cheating and it is so documented that any rebuff is futile, weak and smacks of desperation. That one?

The one that states that your knowledge of football is severely lacking and to feel better about yourself you come to your rivals board to make waves? That scoreboard?

Maybe the one that says that your school and fans are more obsessed with Texas than their own program. I can prove this, btw. Watch any sporting event that has OU. Be it a bowl game you are about to lose, a basketball game, name it. You will see when their team scores or they pan to the crowd that the Horns Down is shown. Not a "Hey, we are OU!" or a "WooHoo". Nope, glorification and praise in a retard way. Thanks for your obsession, fan of cheating scum.

Score this.

I am hard pressed to think up any group of people I hate more, collectively, than pooners.

Maybe terrorists....

I'll never understand why so many of you feel the need to visit a TEXAS board and talk ****. It's amazing. LIke we're somehow going to just agree with you all of a sudden...you can't win this argument against us. We can't win it against you. Why continue?

I've never once posted on any ou or aggie board...just seems pathetic as hell. Be proud of who you are and be a part of your community. Constantly coming here for attention is just a weak move.

I'll give you scoreboard for last year's game...we all get it for life in general.

OUEngineer, whats up with that name? Kind of an oxymoron in itself. Everyone knows the only good engineers to come out of Oklahoma are the ones driving trains over the Oklahoma border.

Choo Choo!
