R.I.P. Steve Fromholz

Hunting accident ("rifle slipped out of its case and discharged") claims the life of Texas Poet Laureate Steve Fromholz, age 68.

This makes me very sad. Listening to Steve Fromholz's music was one of the major activities of my freshman year at Texas. KOKE-FM in its heyday played all the outlaw artists, and they were always appearing around Austin.

"I'd Have to Be Crazy" is my favorite Willie Nelson song.

Rest in peace, Steve. You've earned it.

If you can find the "Frummox" album, check it out. That is where "Texas Trilogy" first appeared. Some other good tracks on it as well.
