Don't quote me on this, as it is second hand from Dr Walter William Glass, orthopod in Port Arthur.

Ragan was a bluechip QB from Port Arthur Thomas Jefferson. The fear was he was going to LSU because Teddy Lilljedahl (sp) was committed to LSU. Lilljedahl suffered a very bad knee injury and LSU pulled his scholarship. Story was that DKR gave him a scholarship to get Ragan to sign. Between the two of them, I think there were 5-6 knee surgeries in subsequent years. Ragan was a great guy, great Longhorn, and exceptional artist.

I’m no art expert, but I’d put him in the same class as Remington and Charlie Russell. He may not have been the valedictorian of that class, but I think he would belong and graduate with some pretty good grades. Like Remington and Russell, Gennusa could really express the animals’ feelings and heart.

RIP
