Quick Update

Heard some conversation tonight about the team and upcoming season. Let’s see if I can quickly recap…

The team has been working extremely hard during the off-season and we should expect to see them in much better condition. Apparently they are tired of being pushed around by ATM.

There is another walk-on, a senior from the tennis team. Never got a name.

Chelsea has had shoulder surgery, and Cokie has had foot surgery. Both should be ready to go by the start of the season.

Everyone seems excited about the incoming freshmen. They are coming in expecting to play and contribute.

Some of that begs questions. I don’t have the answers. That is literally everything that I heard.

I can't imagine who the other walk-on is; no one on the tennis squad has a background in basketball that I know of, or if they do, it isn't indicated on their official bio. Oh well I guess we'll find out soon enough..the roster should be posted any day now.

Good to see all the coaches there. That was a first and a very nice occurrance.

Also, kudos to the Florida trio that flew in are returning Monday. Nice to meet fans from the Sunshine State.

Only thing I heard was that Taylor Greenfield is scheduled to visit during the fall. She would be an automatic replacement for Kat on the perimeter, especially with Nneka and Ronisha coming in.

The frosh are looking very good which is good since the team will have to depend heavily on them for depth. Wonder if the new walkon will be playing inside or on the perimeter? Have to think on the perimeter since I can't think of a tall tennis player.

Really can't wait for the season to get here. I really was just so happy to see the coaches come to the WBB Bash that I didn't ask questions other than when Greenfield was coming to visit.

This is just a reach and I only looked at seniors this past season. Only thing I could find was Sarah Lancaster of San Antonio Alamo Heights. She played BB and ran track in HS. Her HS team lost to Marble Falls her senior year in the first round of the playoffs. She was a pretty good 400 meter runner.

She was a senior this past year and would be in grad school if she played BB this year as a walk on.

You could be right about Lancaster, I didn't think to look at last year's seniors. I did find the following blurb from a 2006 Texassports release about incoming multi-sport athletes:
