Question Re: FSU Super Regional ...

It is my understanding that the stadium atmosphere is supposed to be "neutral" ... meaning no music suited to give a home field advantage, etc.

Through the entire game today FSU was piping in their fight song, War Chant at the end, and music designed to get the crowd involved every time the Wichita St pitching coach came out to the mound. The time I saw the FSU coach come out they played some low-key country music song.

Not that it made a difference in the outcome, but that was pretty shady ...

PS - Glad FSU won, they should bring crazy amounts of fans to Omaha next week. I hope to drink some beer with them.

FSU never piped in a fight song. the fans sing it without any music.

the only time we played anything was the Warchant after the game.

a random country song is illegal?

I don't know anything about the rules, but they absolutely did play FSU's fight song after Posey's home run. I also heard the tomahawk chop song being played more than once. The fans were doing it as well, but the song itself was being played over the speakers at the time.

You are wrong NoleHorn ... the fight song was played after the Posey HR.

Don't get so defensive. It was an observation. Good luck in Omaha, FSU is legit.

They played the Wichita State fight song after the WSU home run, so I think they were trying to be impartial.

How can they expect the crowd/venue to be impartial? If that's the case, then they better be playing at a neutral site.

How neutral could the crowd be when the home fan robs the FSU 3rd baseman a chance to catch a foul ball and reaches over into the field of play to take it away from the player? The next pitch, the WSU player hits a home run.

I went to a Texas super regional game in Tallahassee, what was it, 2003? They did the Tomahawk war chant, don't remember there be musical accompaniment. Then again, we, some 50 strong, sang Texas Fight. The FSU fans stood up and cheered to "OU sucks"....LOL.
