Question for the Christians on this board.

Mr. Deez

Beer Prophet
Since there is now a video of a Muslim cleric tearing a Bible up in a protest, are any of the Christians here on West Mall considering storming the Egyptian embassy, murdering the ambassador, and dragging his body through the streets of Washington, D.C.? Just curious.

I am just trying to get in shape. : )

Actually, this entire event seems to be something altogether different than what was originally reported. It appears that this was not about a movie 13 minute movie that has been out on Youtube since March. It appears it may have had more to do with the date (Sept 11), a gay ambassador and Obama's celebration of the death of Osama Bin Laden. But I am still trying to wrap my mind around it.

Thanks for asking Deez. No. I'd go so far as to say if My Preacher even brought it up Sunday, he'd have a really unpleasant meeting with the Pastor Parish Relations Committee and the Conference Bishoop.

That's interesting, mop. I hadn't heard Ambassador Stevens was gay. Where did you hear that? And is their confirmation the actors would have known of this?

No. I would motivate me to pray for those people. And if provided the opportunity talk to them about their beliefs in light of the gospel.

After Mass, I pondered today's Gospel of St. Mark, 8:27-35:

"Jesus and his disciples set out for the villages of Caesarea Philippi. Along the way he asked his disciples, 'Who do people say that I am?' They said in reply, 'John the Baptist, others Elijah, still others one of the prophets.' And he asked them, 'But who do you say that I am?' Peter said to him in reply, 'You are the Christ.' Then he warned them not to tell anyone about him.

He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer greatly and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes, and be killed, and rise after three days. He spoke this openly. Then Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. At this he turned around and, looking at his disciples, rebuked Peter and said, 'Get behind me, Satan. You are thinking not as God does, but as human beings do.'

He summoned the crowd with his disciples and said to them, 'Whoever wishes to come after me must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me. For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and that of the gospel will save it.'"

Then, after Mass, I had some bad *** menudo, some barbacoa tacos, and read the recap of a great Longhorn victory over Ole Miss.

Amen.

sorry, i didn't follow this post for the past day. Here is the link I read about the Ambassador being gay. Seems reasonably credible. It is written by a gay conservative. Beyond that, it is also not terribly reasonable that they all of the sudden got upset about a 13 minute Youtube movie 6 months after it had been released. then again, many times Muslims do things that are entirely unreasonable so perhaps it is as the original story posted.

I would love anyone's thoughts on this story. I don't know what to believe at this point. I am far from dogmatic in my stance.
