Question about LASP Tix

Hi,
Could anyone tell me if we would have trouble using LASP tickets?? Will they ask for user ID for the specific tickets? I have been told we should be fine if we don't go in through the student section gates, but would like to be prepared just in case. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Blondie

It depends on who is taking your ticket. Sometimes they ask for an ID, other times they don't. I'm not sure about the student section gates, but this has been the case for me at other gates.

Thanks Duckie. What do you do if you get a person who asks?? Will they take your ticket if you do not have an ID?? I am trying to plan ahead as they are great seats and I do not want to give them back. We have the ticket ID cards that came with the season tickets, but of course our state ID's do not match...
Thanks again

Well...I'm a LASP ticket holder with a valid UT ID, so I show them my ID. In your case, you could just try another ticket taker at another gate. It really is hit or miss.

Are you a student or are these student LASP tickets? Maybe I misunderstood your question---they've NEVER asked for the ID card that comes with the tickets, just a UT ID.

These are from a retired faculty member and not student LASP. They just say LASP across the top. We were told she never gets asked for ID but I want to hear what the folks on the site have to say. I wonder if she could call the ticket office and have the names amended. Or, maybe I am just worried over nothing....

Staff/faculty tickets don't have a name on them like student tickets. You definitely don't need the ID card that comes with the tickets, but you may need a UT ID. Again, I've never been asked for the ID card but I have been asked for my UT ID.

Good luck!

If they are indeed retired faculty tickets, they are likely the regular season tickets with "LASP" printed across one end. These look completely different from the student "print at home" or "draw" versions of LASP tickets...

If that is the case (more like regular tickets)... Last season, they really started cracking down, even on the West side (not the student section.)

Those tickets are offered to current/retired faculty staff at a discount as a benefit of employment. They are not intended to be sold. If the retired faculty member has had them for several season and they are on the East side, they are very likely VERY good seats... However, if this is a friend of yours, I'd worry that you using the tickets might get him to loose his benefit...

And it's a UT-ID card that you need, not a state issued ID.

Thanks very much for both of your responses. They are indeed very very good seats on the east side. They look exactly like the regular tickets, but just have LASP printed across the top stub. We certainly do not want to get anyone in trouble so I guess I might need to have her check with the box office to see if there is anything that can be done. I was also thinking of possibly just using cheap or free last minute tix to get in and then sitting in the good seats...

Let me guess..section 26, 27, 28, or 29...
There are random checks of "faculty" (retired or not) tickets to see if their seats are being resold. It is
a benefit for the retiree or a current employee.
