Question about ACL print passes

SO, I'm trying to buy a set of 3 day passes. Most of the ads on craigslist are for print passes. From what I found, people are emailed a pdf, or a link to a pdf or something, that they print out and that is the ticket. When they show up, that printout gets scanned, and authenticated. ( I assume they scan it once, then give you a wristband, correct?) Once a pass is scanned, it can not be scanned again, to prevent people from just photocopying their printout. So the question is, if I were to buy these printpasses from someone from craigslist, ebay, etc, who I don't know, and don't trust, what assurances can I get that they are not selling me a pass that they have just copied 100 times and are selling to a bunch of people. Some are offering to "forward the email with the link, order ID and password. " does this offer any additional assurances?
Should I just be safe and buy the "souvenir" tickets?
Also if someone has 2 Three day passes for sale, I'm in the market. I'll pay $150 each.

You really don't have any assurances, unless you know the person.

I sold some of my print passes last year to strangers, and we met up that Monday that the ticket windows opened in Zilker. I exchanged my print passes for wristbands, and then gave them the wristbands for the money.
