Question about a notary

I have to complete an application that involves a physical exam. There's a block on the application where a doctor has to examine me and certify that I'm healthy enough for this job I'm going to take.

It requires a notary signature.

I dont understand this. I thought notaries had to be physically present when they witness a signature. Does that mean I have to hire a notary to come to my doctors office?

They do have to witness the signature they are notarizing. Check with the doctor's office but I'd be surprised if the doctor doesn't have a notary on staff.
