Quan in the NFL

Is it possible? 5'11"...........not exactly blistering speed for his height...Hard to see it happening. Needs to have an AWESOME special teams season to get a look.

Thoughts?

I guess my real question is, at his height and weight and speed.....why come back for football?
 
i think he will get a FA look and might be able to stick as a 5th WR and ST player on the right team. i think it will be hard. Its better to be a FA than get drafted in last 2 rounds most of the time. He will still play more football might not be initially in the NFL. Good luck to him. Hope he does well.
 
Funny, something tells me that he will get drafted. I think that if Nate Jones can run a 4.4, so can Quan. He will run a 4.4 or better, and will become a WR/Return specialist at the next level. I see him as a mid round pick. I think he's much faster then you guys think. In highschool he was clocked at 4.3, theres no way he's lost all of that speed. Maybe some, but not all.
 
WR's like Steve Smith show that smaller but talented receivers like Quan have a shot in the NFL. I know it's rare, but I think with a solid senior year an NFL team or two will grab him.
 
The Quan / Shipley comparison does no good. As you pointed out, Shipley's problem wil have to do with being injured every season (so far).

Quan's problem will be his age and speed (possibly). He won't have any upside. Whatever he is will be what he is, and he'll probably go down from there in the next 3 years or so.

He could play as slot or #3 or #4. There are LOTS of WRs in the league. lots.
 
I should add that I really hope I'm wrong. His highlight videos from his senior year of high school are some of the best option running I've seen.

When he came back to Texas, I was hoping they would agree to try him out at safety, but I think they figured he'd see the field sooner at wr and that depth in the secondary was pretty promising (besides that, I don't think he's had the hips to play corner since maybe high school, and maybe never, and we all know how Akina likes his cross-trained safeties).
