Purchasing a used iMac in San Antonio

Any recommendations where I can go today to buy a 17" iMac G5?

Sis-in-law gave computer-illiterate M-in-Law a used Gateway laptop PC. She might as well have given my 13 yo son a Chevette with an engine that wouldn't crank. I'm visiting her in SA today, and I was going to show her the basics: a) Googling and Internet surfing, and b) email. Good news is the PC will not boot.

M-in-law is motivated to spend some money to get on the Internet (she's already arranged for DSL service), but a new iMac is over-kill for her needs. Saw some G5s on eBay, but would rather leave SA tomorrow knowing she's up-and-surfing rather than drop-shipping something to her doorstep.

Here is the link to the Mac User group in San Antonio, you might try to email one of the members to see if they can give you any ideas. You might want to stay away from the PPC machines, though. Snow Leopard will not run on a PPC machine and the G5 iMacs have not had the best record for reliability. Good Luck!

Try discount electronics. They don't sell a lot of Macs, but they might have some.

Or Craigslist.

I was at Discount a little over a week ago, and they had a couple of MacBooks, but no iMac.
