Public Transportation in LA

Has anyone tried to take the gold line in LA to the Memorial Park light rail station? If so, how far is the walk to the stadium? Is taking public transportation instead of driving down to the stadium a bad idea?

thanks.

Not sure which color it was but for the USC game my wife and I flew into Ontario, drove a rent car to the first rail stop near the airport, took the rail to the closest stop near the stadium and walked. It worked out very well. I don't remember the exact distance of the walk but I'd guess it was no more than 15-20 minutes. No big deal. It was fun walking with everyone to the stadium. During that walk we were offered up to $1500 cash per ticket on the spot sight unseen - many times. Of course we weren't selling them for anything. To this day the best money I have ever spent.

They also have shuttles from the Gold Line "Memorial Park" station to the Rose Bowl

You can wait in lines for the shuttles, but we ended up walking. The wait was LONG. I remember that it was a good mile and then some. We were so amped up, it didn't matter.

i concur. the shuttles were so long we decide to walk to the rose bowl. didnt seem that far. especially after the game. saw alot of usc nat. champ t-shirts for $2.00

We drove in from Vegas and caught the Red Line, I think. I could be wrong but whatever it was, it was the furthest East stop. There is a grocery store at the stop to get supplies and provisions too. It was super simple (buy your round trip ticket, of course), cheap and worked quite well.

We got there early enough that there was not that long of a line for the shuttles. That way we could take more things in before the game. After, we were among the later ones to leave so the shuttle lines were again shorter. We caught our train and headed back.

The train is the way to go.

We took the Gold Line and shuttles to the stadium - we got there about 4-5 hrs before game time and did not have to wait that long for the shuttle. After the game, the walk is mostly downhill back to the rail station and, after being confined in that stadium for 4+ hours, the 20-25 minute walk back in the cool night air was a piece of cake. We'll definitely do the same thing again this year.
