PSA: Wear gloves when cleaning your oven

That warning telling you to wear gloves on the can of oven cleaning spray? It's not just a suggestion, that stuff will suck out the oils in your skin like no tomorrow. My hands are cracked, and this is only coming in contact with the stuff for <5 minutes, and rinsing like crazy afterwards.

At least the oven is clean.

Aren't all new ovens self cleaning, where they fire up really really hot, and all the **** just burns off. It stinks like hell, but all thats left is a bunch of ash.

Nope, apparently the hottest setting on my oven is Broil. Nothing cooks off in that setting.

But next time you see warnings on cleaning products and chemicals, it's a good idea to read it and follow it. I swear my fingertips felt like they were about to turn into powder they were that dry.

I'll second Superhero here as well. I cleaned an oven once without gloves and I thought my hands were going to fall off.
