PSA: Sleep Apnea Morning Headaches

Perhaps I'm the weirdo. In the past I would sweat in my sleep. I do not now with this VY pillow but again, I might be a freak occurrence.

I sweated last night as it was humid. I also curl up a lot when sleeping. When I woke up I thought, "I have to get the VY pillow!".

I bit on this one and got the pillow about a week ago. I have slept on it three wonderful nights so far and enjoyed it very much (I was out of town). I can't really explain why, but I got really good sleep. I have always been a feather/down pillow guy and this one is a bit more firm but not to where my neck hurts at all. Thanks for the rec. tropheus and tyson.
In VY I trust!

I'm not a doctor, but I thought about snoring vs. this pillow and I suspect those with a serious snoring problem may be better served with an anti-snoring pillow. For me, I don't really snore, I just stop breathing. CPAP doesn't work and even if it did, I probably wouldn't use it as its just too invasive. So if you are debating the anti-snore pillow vs. the VY pillow, you have to consider which one will give you the most help.

Now that my sample size of nights slept on the pillow has increased, I can say I'm in love. My dreams are continuing, mostly nightmares but considering how much stress I'm under, that's probably understandable. I've had no headaches still, but there have been a handful of very slow mornings. So, agian, not a cure all, but certainly worth every penny I spent on it.

i just bought one. getting it thursday. i'll let everyone know how it works. i usually sweat in my sleep and have a hard time sleeping.

I too bought one. Used for the first time last night and...

it didn't work. I woke up several times throughout the night, and I woke up with the usual pains and laziness. I still felt very slow and tired this morning as I do every morning.

It seems that I just don't get any rest at all.

Hopefully it will work better tonight... All this "magic" stuff about it using ambient light... haha I'll give it the benefit of the doubt since the pillow had not been in the light at all (I removed it form the box it was shipped in, put a pillow case on it, and went to sleep)

We'll see if it works better tonight, after I left by the window to get some light... I don't believe it, but I still try.

Hopefully, I didn't wast $60 on a freaking pillow...

Oh well, I've spent more on worse...

yyyeah so i don't really feel a difference either. i got it from amazon (king size) for a steal, $30. but now they're out (wife wanted one b/c she liked how soft it was). we actually shared the pillow for the first two nights. but i'm going on a week now and i haven't noticed any better sleep.

there's been a run on them on amazon, the king size is all sold out.

Sorry to hear that. The only thing I can add is I know exactly why my sleep sucked and what this pillow claims to do directly changes the problem that causes my poor sleep. For you, maybe there is something other than blood oxygen levels causing your poor sleep. Also, I don't think this pillow claims any effectiveness for ailing insomnia if that's what you have.

Last night was my 2nd night with this pillow. It was a little better, this time I only woke up 1 time during the night, and I felt a little better in the morning (like I got more rest).

However, I also went to the gym last night, so maybe my "good" night's sleep was due to that.

Let's hope tonight the pillow does its magic. Then, I'll be able to call it the VY of Pillows

Maybe they bait and switched you. They said you were getting the VY pillow but maybe got the Reggie Bush pillow. It is highly overrated.

i got the pad, and i must say, i do feel a little more refreshed in the mornings, especially after a good night of drinking

. if anything, i've been having a lot more dreams, i mean A LOT more dreams. come to think of it, every morning i've been able to remember my dreams for at least a little bit, to the point that i know i've been dreaming every night since i got the pad a little over two weeks ago. does that mean its working? i never remember dreams, ever. at the very least i know its had an effect, how positive, well not sure on that.

however, i do not have the pillows, should i get that too? the pillows seemed expensive, but then saw that amazon ad, but i guess they are out? if i can find some more cheap pillows (less the 30 bucks or so) i might get one if its recommended.

i dont have sleep apnea or anything but my pops does and i figure even though i'm 26, doesnt hurt to take preventative measures. he has it bad too. not sure if i snore a lot, but guess more OXY couldnt hurt to alleviate that .. .

Brookstone sells a cease-snoring pillow that costs $130. It is hella-expensive...but if you need help in that area, you might want to look at that one.

the pillow is what got me dreaming and feeling more refreshed. the mattress pad for my wife.

I have seemed to hit a plateau though, but I have a ton of stress in my life and I've gotten on a nasty caffeine kick lately (3 cups of coffee, 5 glasses of tea, give or take, each weekday).

I have been using the pillow for about a week now and I am very pleased. I feel like I have had good deep sleep and lots of dreams.

tropheus, give us an updae. Are you still in love with the pillow? And please clarify, which pillow did you buy? Did you buy the "Ambient comfort pillow" or did you buy the sona pillow at Brookstone?

thanks

He meant to say, did you buy the VY Pillow or the one from Brookstone?

Ok so I got the VY pillow. I don't really like it. It's too puffy and it feels uncomfortable.

Now, my favorite pillow of all time is one of thoe Tempurpedic pillows. Easily the most comfortable pillow I've ever used.

still working, no headaches. It has flattened out a bit so I went through a month long phase where I used it as a body pillow so I could keep it close to my skin. I'm back to using it as a head pillow. Like any pillow, it will wear out and I think I'll get another month or two out of it. This isn't that alarming to me as I go through a pillow every six months anyway. I guess the issue there is cost though. I think I spent $25-40 on a regular pillow every six months or so, with this one, the price will be higher.

Since just before Thanksgiving its been hard to keep a consistent schedule. We moved, we've been traveling, going to bed late, had company over, drank lots of wine, etc., all of which have a negative impact on my sleep. My wife is also 9 months pregnant as well. So there are too many variables the last 30+ days to really tell.

That said, I continue to be without headaches in the morning, which was the primary benefit I noticed from the beginning.

Still liking mine. I alternate between two pillows; the VY pillow and another one called Earl. Probably about to get a new memory-foam topper, though. I put the one I have now through hell.

Okay non-sleeper, here is the thread I mentioned. Hope it helps you. We all need a bit more VY in our lives.
