$ .59 cents per pound @ HEB. @ Least that was the HEB @ the Y in Oak Hill, anyhow.

No, these aren't the Sanderson Farms chicken & I have no idea what sort of (if any) method they use, i.e. the nitrates & other stuff they try scare you with on a "premium" bird.

Either way, this is a good price & wouldn't be a bad idea to stock up on some if you've got a BBQ event to plan.

Didn't spot if there is a limit on how many you can get.

FYI-- when buying HEB premarinated fajitas or that kind of stuff-- spend the extra 50 cents on HEB brand vs HCF-- HEB has their own meat plant and always better cuts. The HCF could come from any number of regional packing plants.

Does anyone know the difference in general between HEB and HCF? I have never made a study of it, but for instance milk, I can't tell any difference except that the HCF is slightly cheaper.

UT Dad, I have wondered about this myself. There are some items where I think the HEB brand tastes better. The HCF chips are not very good at all. The HCF brand always seems to be the cheaper of the two.

HEB has 3 levels of "own brand" products, each targeting it's own demographic niche. HCF is the value brand. "a good product at a great price". HEB is a "great product at a good price". Central Market lable is the organic/upscale product with price lower than national brand organics.

As far as the fajitas, the HCF is "self manufactured" at the same plant as the HEB, but the difference is the type of meat. The HEB is traditional Skirt Steak, the HCF is the cheaper sirloin "flap" meat. I actually like the HCF fajita better, as it is more often a thicker cut than the skirt in the HEB.

I much prefer the HEB brand over the HCF from a meat perspective. I never get the HCF beef fajitas anymore, way too fatty.
